Schiphol CBD’s new public square will be opened in July 2017. Its name - The Square - was chosen by Schiphol SPOT community members by means of a competition.
The name was picked for a reason - the square will connect the Hilton and The Base and is the final link between the Airport Terminal and The Base. Its design, based on an amphitheatre, boasts lots of green and beautiful light features. A real asset for Schiphol and everyone that works here. Relaxation, encounters and experiences - that’s what The Square is all about.
What will The Square have to offer?
Construction on the square was started last month and the first outlines are already visible. Soon you and your colleagues will be able to enjoy a delicious lunch at one of the food trucks, surrounded by greenery. And because of its central location, The Square is also an ideal meeting point.
Connecting link at Schiphol
The construction of the new square and the arrival of The Base D signals an area in full development. The Square is a connecting link between the Airport Terminal, the WTC, The Base, Avioport, The Outlook and the Schiphol Head Office building.
The Square to open in July 2017
The square is expected to be completed in July 2017. An official opening ceremony will take place, to which all of Schiphol’s residents are cordially invited. The date will be announced via the SPOT Community as soon as it is known.
