1. The Huismeesters (Schiphol-Oost)
What is (the terrace of) the Huismeesters known for?
Lidwieke Jongepier, location manager: At the Huismeesters we try to create an atmosphere where many people feel at home, a living room outside the home. Our terrace is known for our cozy music that is always on, the wonderful morning sun and that well-deserved cup of coffee that you drink with us at a great price!
What is your favorite item on the menu this summer?
My favorite item on the menu this summer is our Huismeesters Iced Tea. We make it our own, with delicious black tea from Teastreet and a number of secret ingredients. During the summer months we are also happy to make you an iced cappuccino, with our fantastic Noble Tree coffee!
What are you looking forward to this summer?
After all the working from home, we look forward to welcoming old and new faces to De Huismeesters every day! We want to be a cozy neighborhood cafe, where you can go for coffee, breakfast & lunch, but you can also contact us if you would like to organize an event, birthday or farewell. Nothing is too crazy, after last year there is a lot to celebrate!
2. Hilton Amsterdam Airport (Schiphol Central Business District)
What is (the terrace of) Hilton known for?
Iris Rijnierse, assistant F&B manager: Our terrace is known for the combination of local products and Asian specialities. You can enjoy a beer from Brouwerij 't IJ with delicious gyoza! It is also possible to lounge in our beach chairs or have lunch at one of our bar tables. The terrace is not only for our hotel guests, but also for everyone who works in the Schiphol area. Come for a business lunch, a business dinner, appointment or after work drinks with colleagues!
What is your favorite item on the menu this summer?
I would go for the Beyond Burger! A vegetable burger that we serve with avocado, kimchi and sweet potato fries on a pink bun! Highly recommended.
What are you looking forward to this summer?
I am looking forward to all the events we are going to organize this summer on the terrace and our new theme: “New Dawn Rising”. Our terrace turns pink! Pink is the color of passion, hope and optimism. And we are very happy that we can do what we are passionate about again: serving our guests on the terrace (and in Bowery Restaurant and Axis Cocktail Bar of course!).
3. La Place (Schiphol Central Business District)
What is (the terrace of) La Place known for?
Mariska, waitress: The outdoor terrace of the La Place Restaurant is the eye-catcher of the Jan Dellaertplein. Guests can enjoy delicious freshly prepared and homemade dishes and drinks at La Place. And Schiphol employees like to come here for a refreshing drink after work.
What is your favorite item on the menu this summer?
I simply cannot choose! At La Place, everything is freshly prepared every day, so basically everything is tasty.
What are you looking forward to this summer?
The pleasant bustle on the terrace with lots of happy people. And when the sun shines, there is sun on the terrace.
4. Rembrandt (Schiphol Central Business District)
What is (the terrace of) Rembrandt known for?
Floris Spaans, location manager: Café Rembrandt is truly Schiphol's living room. Everyone comes here, whether you work at Schiphol or have a flight to catch.
What is your favorite item on the menu this summer?
I'm always up for one of the burgers, or a tasty snack with a beer.
What are you looking forward to this summer?
The best thing would be if we have a full terrace again this summer and everyone is having a good time.
5. Steigenberger (Schiphol-East)
What is (the terrace of) Steigenberger known for?
Joel, assistant F&B manager: The fun afternoon drinks. Especially before Corona, many people from the surrounding offices came to have a drink with us during the summer season - after all, we have the sun on our terrace from 4 o'clock!
What is your favorite item on the menu this summer?
We now have a really nice Amsterdam-themed snacks platter on the menu; bitterballen, cheese, sausage, sour and it is a very popular dish! We also have a super nice summer croquette burger in a red bun as a special. It fits the theme of the sports summer.
What are you looking forward to this summer?
Full terraces! Finally we can go again! Our terrace is always super cozy, with a mix of hotel guests, and our guests from the surrounding offices!
6. VIVA (Schiphol Central Business District)
What is (the terrace of) Viva known for?
Kirsten Molenman, floor manager: Viva is known for its sun-drenched terrace where you can have a delicious lunch and enjoy a drink with finger food.
What is your favorite item on the menu this summer?
It may sound crazy, but I really enjoy the classic fried eggs. Deliciously well-done bacon, raw ham, melted cheese and the yolk slightly 'runny', yes, you can wake me up for that...
What are you looking forward to this summer?
I look forward to receiving even more guests. We hope that step by step more people will come to the office to work and to establish mutual contacts. We are ready to organize plenty of lunches and drinks for the people who work in and around The Base again. You are most welcome in Viva!
7. Wings Food & Drinks (Schiphol-East)
What is (the terrace of) Wings known for?
Jesse van Heerdt, Wings manager: The Wings terrace is known for the many staff drinks by the various companies at Schiphol-East. You can also enjoy a delicious lunch here.
What is your favorite item on the menu this summer?
The slip soles are my favorite!
What are you looking forward to this summer?
I am really looking forward to the fact that we no longer have Corona measures and that the old normal is back.
